Permanent diode laser epilation is based on selective photothermolysis: the laser beam passes through the skin to the root of the hair follicle.
Light is absorbed and converted into thermal damage in the follicle tissue, so the treated area can regenerate without damage to surrounding tissue.

How diode laser hair removal works
Light and heat dynamics: the laser reaches the follicle root. Hair shaft and follicle melanin absorb the beam and convert it to heat, raising follicle temperature. SIRIUS 16D uses 755 nm, 808 nm and 1064 nm together for standard, fair and dark thick hair.
